Philips Lumalive

This clothing LED system creates an Observation experience that incorporates humans as the canvas for the content. Each piece of clothing runs via a small battery powered USB drive that is connected to a flexible substrate material which is woven into the fabric. The LED can display various playlists of text and animations which can be synchronized with other units if they are all started simultaneously. I touch one of the models shirts to feel the material; it’s soft and bendable but not foldable and I did not feel any heat from any of the system elements. I think the application for this right now is live event marketing and tradeshows. In a few years when the resolution improves and the material can be softer and less noticeable to the people wearing it I can see this being connected to your iPod and other personal digital devices to allow for a visual display on your forearm or your thigh. What about a touch screen version? Additional information can be found at www.lumalive.com.
